hddtemp is a small utility that gives you the temperature of your hard drive by reading S.M.A.R.T. information (for drives that support this feature). All SCSI hard drives have a temperature sensor. All SATA hard drives have a temperature sensor. Nearly all current (> 01/01/2000) ATA hard drives have a temperature sensor.
